POLICE DISCOVERS A GUN MANUFACTURING BASE IN GHANA !!!

Police ‘scared’ of closing down a gun manufacturing base in Ghana

Police officials have discovered a cache of weapons at Alavanyo in the Volta Region -

They are however unable to take possession of the weapons due to the defences put up by the residents of Alavanyo -
  • Alavanyo is reportedly the leading manufacturer of guns in West Africa ,
  • Information available to YEN.com.gh shows that police officials have discovered a gun manufacturing base in the Volta Region.
  • 3news.com reports that they are however hesitant to move in as a result of the nature of the defences put up by those behind the act.
  • Police sources claim that Alavanyo, which has a protracted land conflict with Nkonya, has become the leading manufacturer of guns in West Africa.

  • As we speak, there are people who go on duty at Alavanyo to guard the manufacturing base,” Volta Regional police commander, Doku revealed.
  • 3news.com earlier reported that two people lost their lives during a conflict between military men and the people of Alavanyo. “As weapons are being imported into Alavanayo, they themselves are also manufacturing weapons,” Doku said,
  •  Noting that they have currently identified a place where over (70) AK47 assault rifles are being stashed.
  • He however added that the chiefs in such places often claim that there are no such guns in their villages.
  •  He advised the media to treat what the people say about arms and ammunition with the contempt it deserves, and rather believe what the police say.

January 7 public holiday is illegal – MP

January 7 public holiday is illegal – MP

Rockson Dafeamekpor North Dayi MP

A member of the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee of Parliament has explained that it is illegal for the government to declare Monday, January 7, as a statutory public holiday.

Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor, who is also the Member of Parliament for South Dayi said Parliament has not amended the 1992 Constitution of Ghana to include 7th January as a statutory public holiday but the government has gone ahead to declare the day as such.

The government on New Year’s eve announced 7th January as a public holiday to be celebrated as Constitutional Day.

Reacting to the issue on Onua FM’s Yen Sempa on Monday, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP said “I don’t understand the constitution day…what Constitutional authority did they use to declare the holiday?”

Mr. Dafeamekpor said “government brought a bill to amend the public holiday act and that bill has not been passed.

“It came on the 21st December when we were busily talking and considering the budget so that bill has not been considered. It will be considered when we resume in two weeks’ time” he explained.

“What authority does the government have to declare the day statutory public holiday? You are a democratically elected government. You are not autocratic so you must do things constitutionally,” he urged.

The MP said parliament went on recess before the government declared today as a public holiday “so it is illegal to declare today a holiday,” adding that they will inform the Speaker of what the government did while the bill was pending.

Mr. Dafeamekpor explained that “this is not something we use executive instrument to do. It is only Parliament that can do it but the government is acting autocratically”.

EASIEST WAY TO GET BITCOIN(JAN-2019)

HOW TO MINE BTC

CURRENT BTC PRICE

18,084.44Ghanaian Cedi

Despite the recent launch of many new virtual currencies, bitcoin remains the most popular crypto-currency. It continues to retain the top spot for being used in financial transactions, for mining activities, and having highest market capitalization.

With increasing interest in bitcoins and associated bitcoin mining activity, mining pools are becoming increasingly popular among crypto enthusiasts. (check: How Do Cryptocurrency Mining Pools Work?)

List of Top 5 Bitcoin Mining Pools
The list is presented in descending order of the bitcoin blocks found by the particular mining pool in the last six months, as per statistics available on portals like Blocktrail and Blockchain.info.

1. AntPool

AntPool is operated by a privately-owned company called Bitmain Technologies Ltd. that's based in Beijing, China. The company was set up to design new-age ASIC chips that were capable of bitcoin mining.

Within the last six months, AntPool has discovered the maximum number of bitcoin blocks, around 18% of the total discovered blocks, making it a consistent top ranker in the list of mining pools. AntPool’s pool hashrate currently stands at around 3600 Petahash/second (PH/s).

2. BTC.com

The second-largest mining pool that produced the maximum number of bitcoin blocks after AntPool over the past six months is operated by BTC.com. It generated around 16.5% of bitcoin blocks. The pool was launched in September 2016, and is currently owned by Bitmain Technologies Ltd., the same Chinese firm that runs AntPool.

BTC.com supports full pay-per-share (FPPS) payout methodology. Proponents claim that's more beneficial to miners as it calculates and adds a standard transaction fee to the regular block rewards, making the overall payout higher than the standard pay-per-share (PPS) payout. It currently maintains a hashrate of 5.88 Exahash per second (EH/s).

3. BTC.TOP

The third-place holder is BTC.TOP, and it has mined a little over 13% of the total bitcoins in the past six months. In August 2017, the pool offered the option to mine Bitcoin Cash (BCC), in addition to bitcoin. The pool hashrate hovers in the range of around 3100 Petahash/second (PH/s).

4. ViaBTC

Fourth on the list is ViaBTC, a diversified pool that offers options to mine different kinds of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, ETH, ETC, ZEC and Dash. During the past six months, ViaBTC generated around 11.5% of total bitcoin blocks, and it currently maintains a pool hashrate of 2.772 Exahash per second (EH/s) for its bitcoin mining pool.

5. Slush

One of the oldest mining pools, Slush pool takes the fifth spot for mining the largest number of bitcoin blocks. It was started in December 2010, and has since mined over 1 million BTC coins. It managed to collect around 9% of total bitcoins mined during the last six months. It has a pool hashrate of around 2.342 Exahash per second (EH/s).

Since mining is a dynamic activity, the number of blocks discovered by a particular pool may change based on the pool’s activity and the varying difficulty levels of mining. (For more, see How Does Bitcoin Mining Work?)

UCC MARKET Catastrophe!!!!

#UCC's only Market on Fire!!!!

In the late hours of Friday, 28th December, 2018, UCC Science market reportedly caught fire. An eye witness, a student of UCC who is still on campus says he saw smoke rising from the market. Upon drawing nearer, he saw fire fighters working on a hydrant to combat the blaze. The eye witness claims it took them 10 minutes to get the hydrant to function.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but upon further investigation by FillaFidel, it was discovered that two printing shops in the middle of the market caught fire and were massively burnt to ashes. A third container was also partially burnt.

Again, according to the eye-witness, during the fire fight, one of the firefighters suffered an electrocution as a result of the water’s contact with the electricity.
This caused them to suspend the firefight, while the flames were eating into property worth thousands of cedis, till ECG cut out electric supply to that area.
After the electric power supply was cut out, the fire fighters went into full gear and quenched the fire.

When students heard rumors of the fire outbreak, many got worried about the famous gorb3 joint in the market, kindly rest assured, the gorb3 joint is safe with no scratch on it
